As Above, So Below

This piece consisted of meticulously knotting hundreds of long strands of paper-wrapped wire around two metal rings, one ring suspended in the air, and the other one placed beneath it. I chose to title it "As Above, So Below" a modern paraphrase originating from the Emerald Tablet, which is a foundational text of Hermeticism and alchemy, representing the correspondence between the macrocosm (the universe) and microcosm (the individual). Essentially, the phrase suggests connection between different levels of reality, implying that patterns and principles in the heavens are reflected in the realm that we live in.
